Early morning Chichen Itza Tour: Cenote and Tequila Tasting
1.Early morning Chichen Itza Tour: Cenote and Tequila Tasting
Leave Cancun or the Riviera Maya early for Chichen Itza, with a guide such as Rafa, Cesar, Martin, or Hugo. You’ll get about an hour of guided ruins and time to explore alone, then swim at Cenote Chichikan, eat a buffet lunch, taste tequila, and stop in Valladolid. The low fare excludes Chichen Itza admission and some cenote fees.

“Chichen Itza was the obvious draw for this tour - but really only represented about 20% of the day. The first stop at the Mayan gift shop was not on the itinerary and was an obvious sales grab…as was the Mayan calendar offering on the bus. More focus on the fascinating history of the Mayan people and Chichen Itza (versus sales of tourist trinkets) would be a significant improvement. But ok overall - just plan for a long day.”
